Your local guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel by car upon your arrival in Hue. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure.

Your day starts with a visit to the Imperial Citadel followed by a short boat trip to Thien Mu Pagoda. Spend some serenity-filled hours at a typical Hue garden house, built using the science of geomancy. Come afternoon, and you will continue towards Tu Duc mausoleum, a symbol of Vietnamese art. Next, you will visit the Tu Hieu Pagoda and meet with local monks. Return to your hotel late in afternoon.

Reach (on your own) Da Nang airport for your flight to Nha Trang. Upon arrival in Nha Tarang, check in at your local hotel and spend the rest of day at leisure.

Reach the local airport in Nha Trang in time for catching your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, where upon arrival you will check into your local hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Leave early in the morning for visiting the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, symbolic of the tenacity of the Vietnamese people and associated with war history of the country. Just about 1.5 hours of drive from the Ho Chi Minh City, the tunnels spread for over 250 kilometres. You’ll be surprised to know that the tunnels, boasting an entire network of trapdoors, constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centres and kitchens, were built during the French occupation of Vietnam in the 1940 using very basic tools. A d ocumentary will be shown to all visitors at the beginning of their tour. This will be followed by a thorough tour of the tunnels. At the end of the tour, guests will be offered khoai mi luoc (boiled cassava), a traditional Vietnamese dish eaten daily during the war. Admire the local colonial and Chinese-era architecture in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, and discover significant historical sites including the central post office, the Reunification Palace and Dong Khoi Street and Ben Thanh Market.

This day is reserved for the exploration of Ben Tre in the Mekong delta. Your day starts with a visit to the brick factory in Phong Nam where you will witness the process of making bricks by hands. Next, you will take a cruise along the Chet Say River and discover the locality on the many stops you will make on your way. At a small village, you will learn about the art of carpet-weaving and will get a chance to practise yourself with artists. From here, you will take a motorized rickshaw, locally known as ‘Xe Loi’ or ride a bicycle for discov ering the stunning local scenery, marked by traditional farms, rice fields and vegetable plants. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, serving regional delicacies such as elephant-ear fish and freshwater shrimps. In the afternoon, you will spend leisurely time aboard the boat, discovering the narrow canals. You will travel to Cai Be for your overnight stay, where upon check in, you will be free to spend the day at leisure.

Spend a few hours of leisure before it is time for your departure from Cai Be to Can Tho. Discover the ancient Binh Thuy house, representing features of 20^th century rural houses in the Mekong Delta. This house has also featured in “The silt ways,” “The Bạc Liêu mandarin’s son” and “The lover” movies. The rest of the day can be spent at leisure.

Take a discovery tour of Mekong, starting at the vibrant Cai Rang floating market. Board your own boat and look for boats, each displaying a piece of fruit on a long pole, indicating types of goods sold on that boat, including pineapples, oranges, salad vegetables or turnips, etc. Your boat will take you to Sa Dec, the port base for the American army during the Vietnam War. You will also find the house of the rich Chinese man depicted in Marguerite Duras’ semi-autobiographical novel “L’Amant”. Travel back to the city in the aftern oon, in time for your departure flight.
