Visit the historic old quarter, dominated by the medieval Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese in the 16th Century, with its ancient mosques and narrow bustling streets. Visit the craft shop, souvenir shops dotted along the narrow streets of the Old Town and including a visit to the Akamba wood carvers where you have the opportunity to see the carvers at work and make some purchases.
